Ruby Ihmels, a freshman at Timberline High in Idaho, took third place in the 5-kilometer girls championship race in 18:00.0 at the Foot Locker West Regional at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Ihmels qualified to race Dec. 9 at the national final at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif.
