Grant Morgenfeld, a senior at Palo Alto High in California, took third in the 5-kilometer boys championship race in 15:25 at the Foot Locker West Regional at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Morgenfeld secured a return trip to compete at the national final Dec. 9 at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif., looking to elevate following an 18th-place effort last season.
