Chiara Dailey, a freshman at La Jolla High in California, took third in the girls championship race at the CHAMPS Sports West Regional at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. Dailey, the San Diego Section Division 4 champion, covered the 5-kilometer layout in 18:11 to become the first athlete in program history to compete at the CHAMPS Sports national final Dec. 10 at Balboa Park's Morley Field.
